The Perfect Patio

One of the best things about Southeastern Wisconsin are our amazing summers. We have Summerfest, State Fair, and this year, 65,000 people came together in Milwaukee to celebrate the Buck’s 2021 Championship win.

Separate from those big gathering, we enjoy having our friends and family over in the summertime to hangout at our patio. Whether it’s relaxing, having fun, or socializing, a complete patio compilation helps set the mood and makes those small gathering feel all-so special.

Here are some patio-inspired ideas that I think spice up any patio and give it a welcoming atmosphere.

Setting the Atmosphere

A popular choice for outdoor lighting at some restaurants is stringed bulbs. Whether they are Christmas lights, ball bulbs, or star-light LEDs, they add a special ambiance.

For home use, a favorite and great choice would be to go for some vintage stringed Edison bulb lights. They come in many different lengths and styles, but their soft and easy yellow glow keeps small get-togethers going well into the night. Plus, they match well with a fireplace.

Most Edison stringed bulbs on Amazon are completely weatherproof and they can be paired with an outdoor smart plug to have them come on with the Sunset and turn off at a specific time or leave them on all night until sunrise!

If a partying mood is more desired, these Govee color changing bulbs are a great option. Outdoor certified, controlled through a smartphone app, and they can even change colors based on current music playing. Plus, they double as a holiday-inspired light that can change to Red, White, and Blue or even Red, White, and Green.

Sugary Greatness

A Vodka Soda with lime is always a classic-go-to option for any small gathering but seeing that it’s summertime and there is a good chance the grill will be running, it may be worth grilling some peaches for a wine-mixed drink.

Preferably the night before, combine half a cup of schnapps and a quarter cup of sugar in a large pitcher then after mixing add in a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio along with half a cup of peach juice. Cover the pitcher and let it chill until the gathering.

While you’re grilling, throw on some agave nectar covered peach slices over medium heat for 4 – 6 minutes. Then let them cool off before stirring the peaches and a few raspberries into the wine mixture. Add a cup and a half of tonic water and server with ice-filled wineglasses. Mint garnish if desired.

If something non-alcoholic is more looked-for, then consider a Ginger Lemonade.

Bring two cups water, one cup honey, and two tablespoons of minced ginger root to a boil in a saucepan. Then let it stay covered and steep for 10 minutes; disposing of the ginger.

Once it has cooled, combine the mixture with two cups of chilled club soda, one cup of lemon juice, and serve over ice.

Feel free to add sliced lemons and fresh mint for those finishing, Facebook-share-worthy, touches.

Pictures Make Perfect

Whether you’re having a small gathering or listing your home for sale in this growing market, first appearances are what matters most.

Even in today’s housing market, people often show up to see a house because of one critical feature they liked and saw on the home’s online listing. That very special feature may just happen to be a well taken care of and elegant patio.

Your Realtor should always take the necessary time to help setup the perfect selling picture, especially outside as that is often the cover photo of any listing.

RJ Realty Co. uses a precise trifecta to create the perfect listing. By consulting with you, staging the environment, and then having professional pictures taken, RJ Realty Co. can certainly make your house stand out among the flooded housing market of today.
